We take participants on seasonal excursions to cultural sites and protected natural regions in the San Francisco Bay Area to promote the notion that successful healing requires attention to the mind, body and spirit. CARE retreats also serve to build community among our groups' participants. The CARE group has visited the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, a behind the scenes tour at Alcatraz Island, the San Francisco Ballet's production of 'Nutcracker,' the San Francisco Symphony's 'Choral Christmas Spectacular,' an expressive art retreat at the Headlands Institute, an art making retreat at Fort Mason, a guided tour focused on herbs and supplements at Rainbow Grocery, and guided nutrition tours at the Civic Center Farmer's Market. These outings beautifully reflect our commitment to providing education that is interactive, relevant, and fun. CARE participants frequently speak of past CARE excursions with great enthusiasm. A memorable outing can be a significant, health-enhancing, and life-affirming event.
