Seventy English, Spanish, and Cantonese-speaking cancer patient participants of SFGH’s CARE program enjoy language specific guided tours of Rainbow Grocery with Donald Abrams, MD (herbs and supplements), Laura Brainin-Rodriguez, RD, MPH (fruits and vegetables), and Josefa Perez (healthy foods on a limited budget).

CARE Mission

It is the mission of the CARE program to deliver humanistic, culturally competent health education and psychosocial support through:

• Providing access to health education for patients/clients by addressing barriers related to language and literacy
• Providing quality programs geared to promote and sustain wellness
