Cancer patient participants from SFGH’s CARE program give enthusiastic cheers to walkers at the 2010 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. CARE has been a beneficiary of the Avon Foundation.

CARE Mission

It is the mission of the CARE program to deliver humanistic, culturally competent health education and psychosocial support through:

• Providing access to health education for patients/clients by addressing barriers related to language and literacy
• Providing quality programs geared to promote and sustain wellness
• A commitment to respond to health education needs as identified by participants
• A commitment to sustained excellence through contributions to medical education.
